چکیده

This proposal discusses a wireless network system composed of autonomous/adaptive wireless base stations controlling a large constellation of oblong microcells. Data communications within a microcell is mediated using modified IEEE 802.11a PHY and IEEE 802.16.1 MAC standards. A BS Network Controller is used to oversee the allocation of frequencies amongst microcells of the base station, detect co-channel interference, and control the EIRP of the microcells. Purpose To initiate discussion within the IEEE 802.16.4 committee. To propose the development of a common set of MAC and PHY standards and a new RF PHY layer that will oversee the operation of wireless network terminals having adaptive qualities and being capable of autonomous operation in a controlled co-channel interference environment. Notice This document has been prepared to assist IEEE 802.16.4. It is offered as a basis for discussion and is not binding on the contributing individual(s) or organization(s). Patent Policy and Procedures The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802.16 Patent Policy and Procedures (Version 1.0) , including the statement IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, if there is technical justification in the opinion of the standardsdeveloping committee and provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder that it will license applicants under reasonable terms and conditions for the purpose of implementing the standard. Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair as early as possible, in written or electronic form, of any patents (granted or under application) that may cover technology that is under consideration by or has been approved by IEEE 802.16. The Chair will disclose this notification via the IEEE 802.16 web site . Project IEEE 802.16 Broadband Wireless Access Working Group <http://ieee802.org/16> Title Modulation and Equalization Criteria for 2-11 GHz Fixed Broadband Wireless Systems

We give a brief survey of anti-multipath techniques and associated modulation (OFDM and single-carrier) formats, which are pertinent for 802.16.3 fixed broadband wireless systems. Careful modeling and evaluation of power amplifier nonlinearities and frequency offsets is important for evaluation of proposed PHY modulation formats. Because of the sensitivity of OFDM systems to these impairments, ...

Requirements for WirelessHUMAN Systems

This document outlines the basic requirements of a fixed BWA system operating in the 5GHz UNII bands. Basic characteristics and limitations of the frequency bands are analyzed, and suitability of some systems (802.11a, 802.16.1 and 802.16.3) for the BWA is speculated. A system model to be used as the basis of the study group work is proposed. Purpose Contribution to initiate discussion at the u...

Abstract High directivity low side-lobe antennas, when used for outdoor applications, significantly mitigate co-channel interference and enhance the data carrying capacity of a bandwidth allocation. For lastmile applications it is recommended that highly sectored cellular hubs, which incorporate high directivity, low side lobe antennas, be used to provide urban connectivity. Such hubs would ope...
